The textile industry continued to warm up. In July this year, cotton imports increased to 17 thousand tons, an increase of 1.9% over the same period last year. The total import volume in 2009/10 reached 220 thousand tons, the highest in 3 years.

Judging from imported varieties,

Brazil

Cotton is still the largest variety of imports, but it has decreased by 13.9% compared with the same period last year.

At the same time, due to Pakistan restrictions

Cotton yarn

Exports of Korea have reduced imports of cotton yarn to Pakistan, but increased imports of cotton yarn to other countries.

In the first 7 months of this year, the total import volume of cotton yarn reached 138 thousand tons, an increase of 28.7% over the same period last year. It is expected that the future of textile will continue to be good, and the import of cotton yarn is expected to increase further.

However, affected by the global cotton price rise, the average import cost of South Korea's cotton reached 88.17 cents / pound in July, and the average import cost of cotton yarn rose to 178 cents / pound.

The global cotton price is expected to continue to rise in the new year, when the cost of cotton imports will continue to increase, and the profits of downstream textile mills and retailers will be further reduced, which will eventually lead to higher prices of clothing and home textiles.
