Pia Interlandi prepares his funeral dress for her grandfather. She helps grandpa to put on his best suit and give him the best leather shoes. Then she suddenly thinks: grandpa doesn't need shoes at all. Where can he go? And that is the idea that promoted her new career and designed clothes for the deceased.

She designed linen or silk blouse for the deceased, wrapped the body and head, hoping to convey the respect and care for the departed.

"A lot of people thought I was designing beautiful and expensive clothes for the dead when they heard about my career, but this is not the case," Interlandi said. "When I design these clothes, I take into consideration factors such as care and taboos, such as the environmental impact.

I don't want to use plastic to pollute the soil, and I need to take care of my relatives' caring for the dead.

Therefore, I need to wrap up the deceased with beautiful clothes and choose the most suitable clothing for them.

Interlandi is also a father of a master of ceremonies. Her fashion career began with her work experience in fabric decoration.

In this work, she came into contact with many different fabric materials, such as plastic materials specially used to cover burn victims. She also used this material to design her own high school uniform skirt.

When she was at RMIT in Melbourne, she also used animal organs in her design.

She has been trying to find a material that can be combined with body decay. For her, many Australians are wearing a polyester material like slippers for a funeral.

"The material like polyester fiber is slow to decay," she said. "In the end, the deceased has turned into a white bone, and the material is still on the body. It looks very discordant."

Interlandi did a lot of experiments. She buried 21 pigs and put them on their own materials to find the most suitable material for mourning.

As the funeral gradually changes from the church ceremony to a personalized ceremony, adding photos of the dead, favorite music and life stories, the clothes of the deceased should also be changed.

And more and more people are talking about funeral. For Interlandi, her job is more like opening a window for people to dare to talk about topics that they have never been able to avoid before.
