Italy'S Clothing Grew By 35% To Become A Country Of Clothing Origin In Hongkong.

According to the news from the Consulate General of Italy in Hongkong, the market share of Italy's clothing and textiles in mainland China and Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao is increasing.

According to the news report, the total imports of clothing and textiles in Hongkong amounted to 4 billion 991 million US dollars, of which Italy textile and apparel accounted for 215 million US dollars, with an annual increase of 35% and a market share of 4.3%.

Italy is the second largest source of textile and clothing in Hongkong.

Mainland China is the largest source of textile and clothing in Hongkong, reaching 4 billion 342 million US dollars and 88% of the market share.

However, the market share of mainland textiles is decreasing at an annual rate of 4.7%.

The third largest and fourth largest source countries are France and Japan, with a market share of 1.32% and 1.12% respectively.

In the 1-4 months of 2008, the import volume of Hongkong has exceeded 4 billion US dollars. Italy is the third largest source country of Hongkong fabrics and spindle imports. Compared with the same period in 2007, it increased by 4.4%, accounting for 5.7% of the total, reaching 230 million US dollars.

China is still the largest source of fabric and spindles in Hongkong.

The total amount reached 2 billion 442 million US dollars, accounting for 60%, an increase of 0.4%.

Taiwan accounted for second, with a total value of US $392 million, but imports fell by 6%.
